What your day would look like
We are looking for a Service Designer to join our Product Strategy team and play a central role in developing innovative strategies and transforming them into actionable design solutions ⚡
As part of our ambitious and growing Product Strategy team, you'll contribute directly to the green shift, tackling cutting-edge challenges in mobility, green technology, smart energy, and smart city solutions. Together, we’re working toward making charging effortless for all our customers. We share the passion for customer insight, brand building, and a creative growth mindset, all while advancing green-tech charging solutions that make a real difference for the planet 🙌🏽
You will be working across the Zaptec universe to define services, experiences and strategies, and support their implementation in collaboration with our domain-focused Agile teams.
While no two days will be the same, these are some of the things that you'll be doing:
Collaborating with versatile stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs, and market trends.
Conducting thorough research, including user interviews, stakeholder consultations, and competitive analysis, to identify insights and opportunities for service improvement.
Defining product and service solutions and creating supporting assets like user journeys, service blueprints, and prototypes, used to illustrate and communicate the experience.
Working closely with Product designers, Product managers, and developers to ensure implementation of your design solutions.
Conducting usability testing and gathering user feedback to inform iterative design improvements.
Facilitating workshops to generate ideas, foster collaboration, and drive innovation.
Staying up to date with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and design trends relevant to service and strategic design.

As a skilled and versatile Service Designer with a strategic mindset, you have what it takes to help us scale our operations and enter new markets—all while keeping user needs front and center. Beyond this, we see you as a key contributor to strengthening our work processes and building bridges across departments, positioning yourself right where the action is.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to challenge the status quo, propose innovative ideas, and implement creative solutions at a strategic level—all aimed at enhancing the Zaptec experience and driving our mission forward.
Some skills we value
Background in Strategic Design, Service Design, UX, or Design Research. This is a Senior position so demonstrated experience within these fields is required.
Proficiency in user-centered design principles and practices.
Excellent collaboration skills
Ability to conduct research, gather insights, and translate them into design solutions.
Experience in facilitating workshops and design thinking sessions.
You must be comfortable working within a highly technical field. There are many technical experts at Zaptec who are here to guide and teach you, but you must be excited and motivated about your learning journey.
We also believe you have
The ability to visually communicate your thoughts and ideas is a major advantage. This might mean that you have proficiency in using design software such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, or others to create visual design artifacts, prototypes, and wireframes, and interactive design solutions.
Understanding of agile development processes and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (at Zaptec, we follow SAFe).
Knowledge of emerging technologies and their potential impact on service design.
Project management skills to effectively manage timelines and deliverables.
Full professional written and verbal English.
