We're now looking for a Sourcing Category Lead to take ownership of key sourcing categories and help strengthen our supplier base as we continue to grow.

In this role, you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, working closely with suppliers and internal teams across engineering, production and supply chain. From developing category strategies and negotiating agreements to supporting new product introductions, you'll play an important part in ensuring we have the right suppliers, components and commercial conditions in place.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how we work with suppliers, identify improvements and build partnerships that support Zaptec's ambitions for the future.

Your day-to-day might include:

• Develop and drive sourcing strategies for your assigned categories, balancing cost, quality, availability, sustainability and risk.

• Manage and develop supplier relationships, including supplier selection, evaluation and consolidation where relevant.

• Lead RFQ/RFP processes, evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate competitive pricing and commercial agreements.

• Identify and drive cost improvements, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership and long-term value.

• Monitor market trends, supplier capacity, technology developments and cost drivers to identify opportunities and potential risks.

• Follow up supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost and service, driving improvements where needed.

• Identify supply risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure continuity of supply for critical components.

• Collaborate with engineering, production and other stakeholders to support new product introductions and engineering changes.

• Contribute to improving sourcing processes and ways of working across Zaptec.

As for the skills required for this job

• Solid experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or category management, with the ability to independently manage suppliers, negotiations and sourcing initiatives.

• Experience developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships and negotiating agreements.

• A good understanding of cost drivers, supplier performance, supply chain risks and Total Cost of Ownership.

• B.sc or similar in Supply Chain, Finance, Administration, Business, Engineering or a related field. Relevant practical experience can compensate for this.

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

It would be a bonus if you have:

• Experience sourcing electronics, technical components or other products in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience working with international suppliers and supply chains.

• Norwegian and/or German language skills.
